SFX was created by Sam Johnson, a black veteran of the United States Air Force and Founder of the gym, StrengthFarm. Sam believes Strength is for Everyone and SFX StrengthFarm Training has the power to help people of all walks in life. SFX is available and affordable for anyone, anywhere and is the system Sam created while training young people, working professionals, people with disabilities, amateur athletes, professional athletes and military members at StrengthFarm. SFX is the key to anyone, anywhere being able to access StrengthFarm Training and becoming stronger for their lifestyle.
The SFX App is the result of a partnership between Co-Founders Sam Johnson and Danny Decker, who share the vision of improving the performance of all people and to help fight against the epidemic of injuries and sickness in the world. From years of training thousands of people at StrengthFarm, Sam developed the multi-disciplinary SFX StrengthFarm training system that focuses on strength, conditioning, speed, and mobility for building full-body explosive strength in people of all ages.
In 2019, Sam approached Danny who he had been actively training at StrengthFarm for three years, and asked if he wanted to partner on building an app that would provide people access to StrengthFarm Training using the SFX system. Danny with 17 years of design, marketing, branding, and digital knowledge and having experienced StrengthFarm Training first hand was excited to create an app that gave people anywhere the opportunity to benefit in ways Danny had from the custom programing tailored to his physical abilities at StrengthFarm.

Sam believes everyone is an athlete and that strength and conditioning is for everyone. Native to Portland, Oregon Sam is passionate about leading all people to live a sustainable, strong, healthy lifestyle. His 10+ years of coaching experience as well as personally competing in the CrossFit Games, USAW Weightlifting Nationals, and numerous sports give him a unique perspective to help Athletes reach their Goals.
Sam’s prior experience as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force also gives him a unique perspective to help prospective military members train to be mentally and physically prepared for service. While he's not coaching, he enjoys studying ways to improve his methods to ensure all people he works with receive the best strength and conditioning program possible.

Danny Decker is the Founder and Creative Director of Harlo Interactive, Inc. Established in 2004 Danny began the agency in his mentor’s basement next to the washer and dryer after having no luck in finding a job post completing his undergraduate English degree at Portland State University. Trained as a graphic designer in branding, logo, print, and package design, Danny saw an opportunity to offer high-impact design to the web. At that point in time, the Internet was evolving rapidly and most websites were uninspiring, flat, linear, pragmatic, and unattractive. They were made only to be functional. Websites were created by developers, not designers, and they lacked character, color, design, aesthetics, and personality.
Danny saw an opportunity and began designing websites. Since its inception, Harlo Interactive has developed over 300+ digital experiences ranging from e-commerce, websites, software, mobile apps, and custom web-based applications. Harlo has worked in almost every industry for Global brands such as Major League Soccer, Disney Cruise Lines, Adidas, Samsung, Daimler Trucks North America, Riddell Helmets, Yakima, XpresSpa, Nordic Semiconductor, Boeing, Fetzer Wines, Audi, and many more. Currently in its 17th year in operation Harlo is one of the longest-standing digital agencies in Portland, Oregon, and is highly respected and known for its excellence in design, and digital locally, regionally, and nationally.
